Search Engine Submission
The traditional online way of promoting your web-site is to get it
listed in the various search engines, like
Google or Yahoo. Listings are of
two types: free listings, and paid listings. In a free listing you enter
the data relative to the web site on special purpose forms or programs, to
tell the search-engine operators that your site is there. The
search-engine operator will eventually review your site and decide whether
it is worth including in their index. Free listings are free, but it may
take up to several months for the top search engines to list your site,
since the reviewers are human (not computers). Certain search engines will
actually not allow free submissions of commercial web sites, requiring
that you pay a fee for inclusion.
The alternative is a paid listing, where you pay the search engine a
fee to get your site included in the index. Turnaround in this case is
quick, typically under a week, but the top search engines can charge hefty
fees for this service.
In either case, your web site has to be prepared for submission. First
of all, the web site has to be clean, i.e. all the links have to be
working, the site has to be properly configured for "spidering" (automatic
reading of the site by a web robot), and you have to have the proper
keywords inserted in your web pages.
Whether we design a web site for you or not, we can get your site ready
for search engine submission. We can also do the submission itself to
thousands of search engines, and track how your site is ranked. You can
contract web submission as part of a web design,
web hosting, or
web management package at high discounts, or on its own. Please
