Web Hosting
Once your web site is designed, it has to be published to a web server
so that other people can access it. At this point you have a number of
choices: you can 'run your own' web server;
you can use 'server collocation', you
can use 'server sharing', or you can use
a 'free server'.
Running your own server is like buying a
car. It has the highest up-front cost, you are responsible for all of the
maintenance, equipment depreciates over time, but, in the long run, can be
the cheapest solution for large corporations
Server collocation is like leasing
a car. Up-front cost and monthly payments are lower, you do not have to
worry about depreciation, and you may get a better service that you would
be able to afford if you had to buy the whole thing. On the other hand, if
you need to over-use the resources that you contracted for, it can become
a bit expensive. It is an ideal solution for not-so-small businesses.
Server sharing is like hiring a cab.
It gets you where you want to go very cheaply, as long as you do not need
a lot of resources. It's a very good solution for web presence sites for
small businesses.
Free servers are like taking the bus.
Price can't be beat if you are willing to wait and walk a little. They
tend to be a little unreliable, but can be a good solution for those with
restricted budgets.
Whatever your choice, we have plans
that fit every taste and budget. We have reseller contracts with many web
server farms. If you are in the Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk area, we can
set up a server in your office and manage it for you. Please
contact us to discuss your options.
